The Deep Snake

Now demon wise, we are talking about something  almost
everyone has had some personal experience with.

But this post is also inspired by recent events, in
Charlotte,  Va. which I learned today should surprise
no one ..... Well, yes I kind of get that, but if you're
surprised, then your surprised, like who really knew
that Darth Vader was Luke SkyWalker's dad? Well, of
course somebody would know.

But this also goes back to another blog and another
post which you can find in this link:  The Light of Truth,
but some elements you can find in the previous post
here as well.

So the Deep Snake, where is this?   Another name for
the Deep Snake is ( of course ),,,,, dishonesty.

Now, like greed dishonesty is not a thing to itself but
rather dishonesty is the lack of truth.  But generally
we encounter it by a real event, which is called
the lie,,,,,

Now the thing about a lie, is the the real issue is
the willingness to tell it, because honesty is somewhat
curious in that it requires a lot of work.   One virtue
that perhaps you would not anticipate as being
of value in relation to it would be humility.  I'm not
sure people generally understand this connection,
but certainly it can play a definite role in the necessary
effort required to develop honesty as a virtue, and that
is because one of the motivations in telling lies is
to protect some perceived quality or lack of quality
that someone might wish to portray in a certain
way, like reputation.

But we also can notice that the Deep Snake, also connects
back to Greed, both very much connected.  The reason of
course must be the way in which they are so invisible to us,
meaning, they are behaviors that are so easy to ascribe to
some one else, some other group, some other, religion,
some other nation, some other, race, or just simply,
as with greed, anybody but yourself.

Invisible, but so seriously,   real,  and a constant threat,
the destructive force of which is almost indescribable.

What does that have to do with Charlotte ?

Well, simply it's about not being able to see the truth,
because it is obscured through ignorance and neglect.
But we need to understand that truth is both a light
and a power.  We,  and only we together will be able
to find that light.  We must ignite that light in ourselves
and each other to prevent the Deep Snake from destroying
in fact, what is important to all of us.

Greed and Generosity

Certainly with respect to other demons it must be greed - who we can certainly view
as distinctive.   And why would that be?  Look over time and it is pretty evident
that greed has taken down and ravaged mankind and his civilizations throughout
recorded time.  It would be good to examine this demon clearly I believe.

So, dogmas about greed.  Most interesting.  Civilization does in part (??) involve
itself with the creation of some times extensive works on the issue of
greed, and most of the dogma would suggest that greed only happens to whatever
group you do not belong to.  So whatever race, nationality or religious or work ethic
you might ascribe to it is the ===> other groups ( other nationalities, religions or
affiliations which you do not belong to ) which has these pernicious behaviors.
And you could even generalize beyond that to --- ANYBODY except YOURSELF.

Now observe that in relation to generosity - greed is not so much a thing as an absence
of something - the absence of generosity.  So then examined closely - at any given
time - greed is simply our desires and you might view them as needs ==> not to be
generous.

And from this we see humanity and civilization ravaged throughout time ==>
in almost every part of this (round thing) we inhabit.

A Demon, Dogma and Angel

But just a man.

So I was listening to Nick Spitzer, American Routes, and sort of a tribute to John
Coltrane who has been in my life in some ways both a demon and a dogma,
and yet I've spent a good deal of time in enjoyment of, and often wish for
more.  And also just learned a few things more, that he was in the band with
Dizzy Gillespie, and performed with Duke which I did not know. But throw
in a little Jerry and Monk then ....

But where is this going?  The twilight in the garden of good and evil?  I guess,
it's just knowing something, about these men and those times that ring and
resonate back to us -  so here it is 0 - a tribute : that might not (bear up)
via Bob and Frodo ... ( as we all have our demons and dogmas and angels )

That we see along the way .....

and so and which to, wish to,

before it seems so far behind ...

and yes and yes and
so,  oh, as we be wondering, then,
we are sure it is, and, as that we find,

and only and if, I know, I know

I know it and so I find.



 

Geography?

So, what is this about? Geography should have to do with the earth, but I guess it can
also be used for regions of space beyond earth, if they are local ( meaning within our
known solar system ).  So we might also call it astronomy.

I recently learned some stuff or at least relearned it, about our relatively near
neighbor --- most commonly known as Mars. It is the focus of a good deal of attention.
It's seems there is a good deal of interest in going to Mars.

Mars of course is a word coming to us mostly from Roman times, as Mars was
very significant throughout both ancient and more modern Roman culture.

link: < language chart >.  Now, Mars was considered a god in that culture,
so god and demon are of course different.  I would like to know who is
in charge of that distinction.   I would not be surprised to know that one man's
demon could be another man's god, but this is a matter I am not too clear on.

Anyway, one of the more fascinating aspects of this is that Mars has two
moons : Deimos and Phobos.  The following site contains images of Deimos
on the shield of Leonidas, King of Sparta: link: < aphrodite-hoplismene >,
Aphrodite is the mother of Deimos and Phobos ( outside of wedlock? ) with
Mars.

Now, I think we need to make a few things clear. When we say we are going
to Mars, does it not mean in some sense we are going to war? I mean jumble
it around in your mind a bit. God of war - < well, I hope the guys who are
working on these plans, have given it a thought >.

So back to Phobos and Deimos, apparently people have kept fairly quiet about
their goings on s. When you translate you get - fear and terror. Phobos - fear,
and Deimos - terror. So on that topic, think about the idea - War on Terror -
could mean - War on Deimos ( very small place, by the way ), and also could
mean war on the god of war's, son. (????????)

I'm not sure how to untangle all this, but it does allow some room for cogitation.

This is a review of a road book - that-meaning - of course, it is similar to the
Wizard of Oz, or On the Road, except that it doesn't always seem to be
going in one direction, so it's like the Wizard, but with many more detours,
in time and space and there are more Cowardly Lions, Totos, Tin Men,
and Scare Crows  and the main character
- the Ono-Ono - and that is how it connects to Demons and Dogmas.

It pulls in quite a bit of Terra Firma, connecting north central US with the west coast
and the islands of the Pacific, with highly descriptive prose that capture the scene.
 Am I in Northern Minnesota?  I like to think.

So it's a bit of an adventure, travel, character development and even some what you might
call philosophy,  a bit of science, and a bit on pugilistics.

You should read it. It will expand your Tahitian vocabulary.  I should read it more.

where in the heck are we ????

At a time when angels appear as demons and likewise the demons appear as angels
the question arises - " where in the heck are we? ".   I have developed somewhat of
a concern that we are currently living in a universe inside of a dead man's mind.

What are the implications of that ?  For example, should everyone in the universe
be collecting from the dead man's estate ?  If the dead man was in fact insane, what
does that mean for the universe's projected future ?

I hoped to come up with more information, data, and facts to determine if this might
be a justifiable concern. Facts ma'm just the facts.

A Demon called Desire

Near to where I live there is a bit of a stream.  Mostly, it's known as a river.  It is so well known that the river has a song connected to it - " Ol' Man River " ... possibly one the most " haunting " of  melodies.   Around this river, an  almost uncountable number of folks have made there lives, enjoying the riches that the " Ol' Man " could bestow - and they go on even faced with the devastation, death, and turmoil it will also create.

With all reservations on account of  Bob Dylan's album - Desire also known  sometimes as Hurricane,  I have to jump into -  talking about the demon desire ( or Demon desire, or demon Desire, or Demon Desire ).
 
Well, that particular demon would possibly be in a "class" by itself, kind of like " Ol' Man River ". A demon, so like an angel, you can't tell for certain. Perhaps a flavoring of Abraxas? .  And how does desire get along with love?  Can you distinguish them one from another? That has been somehow a focus of concern  for a along time.  A preoccupation  -   a big question mark through history, almost like time itself.  Style, pride, arrogance, vanity, hubris - how they are connected, like colors through the thread of the question. So common and so uncommon at the same time.

And can in fact the story end?  Is there a last note to the tune?  I, at least, am unable to  answer that.
